Topshop lipstick in Depth £8
Do you ever have those moments following a rather spontaneous purchase where you just shake your head in confusion and think, "what was I thinking?!" This happened to me last week when I somehow came home with this new lipstick from the Topshop makeup range. I am completely digging the dark berry lip trend and wanted to expand my collection a little so made a beeline for this rather morbid blackened-burgundy lipstick called Depth. I swatched it in store and foolishly thought it looks quite nice, and that the purple tones made it reasonably wearable, but when I got home and proceeded to apply it...it became very clear that this was not the case! Now I am quite daring when it comes to lipstick but quite frankly I looked odd. Very odd. And toothless!
I really really wish I could have pulled off this statement lipstick because it is such an incredible, unique colour with a rich glossy finish at a purse-friendly price. And I just hope in time I might find a reason or a place to summon it from the makeup archives, but for now that is where it is heading! It is definitely a lipstick that calls out for an accompanying lip liner, which evidently I didn't have, and a very brave disposition. I think it is just one step too far for me, but I want someone to tell me that they have bought this too and love it? Anybody?
